Queen Camilla’s son, Tom Parker Bowles, gave a blunt five-word update on the King’s health.

Tom Parker Bowles has opened up on his family's health woes - including the King's cancer diagnosis - and his own weight struggles in a candid new interview

In a candid conversation with British Vogue, Queen Camilla’s son Tom Parker Bowles has issued an update on the King’s recent health struggles. Serving up some choice words about cancer in his discussion, the acclaimed food critic and familiar face on Masterchef didn’t hold back.

“Cancer, it really is a b*stard,” Tom declared. “The King’s having the best treatment. He’s a great man and a tough man, and you’ve just got to get on with it. Of course, anyone who has someone they love with cancer is going to worry.”

Tom also gave insight into how the Queen is handling her spouse’s troubling condition, saying: “She’s tough, my mother.”

Beyond the family’s health concerns, Tom touched upon his informal Royal ties. He steered clear of exploiting his connections until his latest literary venture, Cooking and the Crown: Royal recipes from Queen Victoria to King Charles III, reports the Express.

“Nepotism, blah, blah, blah. Fair game,” Tom joked, adding: “I thought, ‘You know what? In my defence, I can say that I’ve had 25 years of keeping away from it.

“If I’d come in and said, ‘Hey, guys. This is going to be the exclusive royal family cookbook’, I think that would be a bit of a sellout. But I approached it as I approach every other book.”

Finally, he shared that while maintaining good relations with the Prince and Princess of Wales – “I absolutely adore both of them” – he says, Tom has been cautious to avoid any entanglement in the sensitive issues surrounding Harry and Meghan, explaining: “I keep out of it. You just want everyone to be happy.”
