Prince William lets slip how he’s spending half term with George, Charlotte and Louis
There’s been no school for Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis this week – that’s because it is their October half-term holidays.
The trio, who attended Lambrook School, which is close to their Windsor home of Adelaide Cottage, are enjoying a short break from class like children up and down the country after returning to school for a new year in September. It is well-known that both the Prince and Princess of Wales prefer to spend quality time with their children during the holidays and rarely take part in royal duties during this time. It’s unknown exactly what the Wales family has been up to during the break.
However, it seems Prince William has hinted at one activity that they may have got up to last night. That’s because his beloved football team Aston Villa were in Champions League action, notching up a 2-0 win over Italian side Bologna – and it seems the big match factored into the holiday plans.
The victory marked three straight wins for Villa in the European competition and during the match, which was being broadcast on TNT Sports, commentator and former footballer Ally McCoist name-checked the Prince of Wales – and pondered whether he had been watching the memorable victory.
And after the final whistle blew, William took to his official X account, where he wrote: “Of course I was watching, @Ally_McCoist9 #UTV. The hashtag stands for the phrase ‘Up The Villa’ while the comment was signed off with the letter W, denoting it was a personal tweet from the prince.
William’s excited comments come as his oldest son Prince George, seems to be following in his footsteps with his own love of football. The 11-year-old has been spotted at several high-profile England matches including the Euro final loss to Spain in Berlin in the summer and has even accompanied his dad to watch his beloved Aston Villa at Villa Park. However, William has not divulged whether George is in fact a die-hard Villa fan.
