Prince William is worried and ‘troubled’ about Princess Diana’s jewelry that Meghan possesses, which keeps going missing.
Find out why the Prince of Wales gets upset every time the Duchess of Sussex is seen out without her engagement ring.
Since they’ve been together, Meghan Markle has received some beautiful jewelry from Prince Harry, including pieces from his mother, Princess Diana‘s personal collection. In fact, Meghan’s engagement ring holds diamonds that once belonged to the late princess. Anyone who watched the Sussexes’ first joint interview after their engagement announcement will remember hearing the details about the ring the Duke of Sussex gave his bride-to-be.
The couple shared the story of Harry’s proposal and then when asked about the ring, Meghan proudly displayed the six-carat, cushion-cut sparkler. The ring features three stones. The center gem is from Botswana, a country close to the couple’s hearts, and its two smaller diamonds on each side are from Princess Diana’s collection. But the ring has done a disappearing act on more than one occasion and that has Prince William pretty upset.
Meghan’s ring disappeared for a while before reappearing in another country
Meghan’s ring has undergone a few upgrades over the years but has kept those all-important side diamonds intact.
When the duchess was pregnant with her first child, Prince Archie, Harry enlisted celebrity jeweler Lorraine Schwartz to resize and reset the ring. The original band was replaced with a thin, yellow-gold band set with micro-pavè diamonds. The newly designed ring made its public debut when Meghan wore it at the Trooping the Color Parade in June 2019.
After the duke and duchess moved Stateside, the former Suits star was spotted without her ring. This caught the attention of some across the pond and really sparked concern when Meghan was photographed at several high-profile events sans her engagement ring including when she accompanied her husband to Invictus Games events in 2023, and during an appearance in New York City the following month, as well as on the red carpet at the Variety Power of Women event in November 2023 and at the Bob Marley: One Love movie premiere in January 2024.
However, in February 2024, when the Sussexes traveled to Whistler, Canada, for the Invictus Games One Year To Go Event, Meghan’s ring was back on her finger for the first time in nine months. Obviously, William could breathe a sigh of relief until the next time his sister-in-law is seen somewhere without it.
