Prince William had to take a firm stand and called Queen Elizabeth, saying seven words after reviewing his wedding guest list.
Find out what Prince William said to his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, when he was stunned by the guestlist for his royal wedding.
Many royal fans remember watching Prince William and the Princess of Wales’ (formerly as known as Kate Middleton) wedding.
The event took place on April 29, 2011, at Westminster Abbey and looked like something out of a storybook. The lovely bride married her Prince Charming in a beautiful ceremony in front of 1,900 guests with millions more watching from around the world. And after their nuptials concluded, the newlyweds rode off together in a carriage.
But prior to their big day, Prince William wasn’t happy when he saw the guestlist for the wedding and went straight to Queen Elizabeth to voice his concerns.
When the future king had an issue with something pertaining to his wedding, he went to his grandmother and let her know exactly how he felt.
In the documentary Royal Wedding: A Day to Remember, commentator Roya Nikkhah shared that Prince William was upset when he was first given a prepared guestlist for his wedding because he and Kate didn’t know any of the people on there.
According to Nikkhah, William called the queen instantly and had just seven words telling her: “I don’t know any of these people.”
Nikkhah explained: “When the guest list was drawn up [William] was very bemused and had a conversation with the queen to say, ‘I don’t know any of these people.’ He wasn’t very happy about it. The queen just said to him, rip that list up and start where you want to start from and invite who you want — and that’s what they did.”
