Prince Harry did something very unusual while Meghan Markle was in labor.
The Duke of Sussex wanted to stay calm ahead of the birth of his first child and therefore made one decision to help him achieve this.
Prince Harry is a doting dad to his two children Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.
The duke, 40, rarely speaks about his children in public however has made it clear over the years that both his children are among the greatest things to happen to him.
While details about his children and their lives are few and far between, Prince Harry did give royal fans an insight into the birth of his oldest child.
In 2019 when Meghan was in labour, the prince admitted that there was one big thing on his mind while waiting for the arrival of his firstborn. Although the couple were very private about his birth at the time, the duke has since shared some details about the experience.
According to the duke, Meghan was in labour at The Portland Hospital, one of the UK’s fanciest private hospitals, when he reportedly decided to calm his nerves by ordering Nando’s, The Mirror reports.
In his memoir, Harry said his wife was very calm about what was happening, however, he needed a slight pick-me-up. This led to the duke sending his bodyguards to nip out to the nearest Nando’s to pick him up a snack while awaiting the birth of his first child.
The prince did not share many more details, however, this is just one part of Archie’s birth that makes it unique for a royal.
The other was the fact that, unlike other senior members of the Royal Family, the pair decided not to show their child to the world at the hospital steps.
This was a move that was met with shock by the British public, who had previously seen Princess Kate and Prince William introduce all three of their children to the world in this manner.
