Prince George Reportedly Wants This Ordinary Job Before Becoming King
He will not be expected to serve in the military like his dad.
Despite his position as the future King of England, Prince George is still just an ordinary kid at the end of the day. Case in point? His future career aspirations are as relatable as ever.
This week, local land owner Desmond MacCarthy, who runs Whiveton Hall Cafe in Norfolk, revealed that Prince George recently visited his restaurant with his mom, Kate Middleton, and some friends while speaking with The Daily Mail. “They came here with their friends, because Sandringham isn’t that far away,” MacCarthy said, referring to King Charles’s rural retreat, where the Prince and Princess of Wales have their holiday home, Anmer Hall.
He went on to tell the outlet that the young royal was excited to be inside the kitchen and once he saw the wood-fired pizza oven, it was game over. According to MacCarthy, George declared: “That’s what I want to do when I grow up!”
Studying to become a chef might very well be a possibility for George, who is not expected to serve in the Armed Forces before becoming king like his dad, Prince William and grandfather King Charles, breaking a centuries-old tradition.
In addition to cooking, George, who is second in line to the throne, has a plethora of other interests to keep him busy in the meantime. Last week, Prince William opened up about his 11-year-old son’s most recent hobby while visiting Birtley Community Pool in Tyne and Wear, England.
“George loves scuba diving. He’s 11 years old. We took him under thinking he would freak out. He absolutely loves it,” the Prince of Wales told Olympic swimmers Adam Peaty and Tom Dean during the engagement, adding: “It’s just introducing him to the world of water.”
