Melania Trump discloses that she exchanges letters with King Charles and shares a significant mutual passion.

Melania Trump made several startling revelations in her memoir, including that she holds a pro-choice stance on abortion - putting her at odds with her husband's Republican Party

Former US First Lady Melania Trump has claimed she is pen pals with King Charles.

Mrs Trump is said to have an “ongoing correspondence” with the monarch, according to a New York Times review of her new book Melania: A Memoir. While it was not mentioned when Mrs Trump and King Charles reportedly started writing to one another, they are understood to have met in New York in 2005.

They met once again when Mrs Trump joined her husband during a state visit to the UK in 2019, when he was president. US-based outlet The Daily Beast said Mrs Trump said it had been an “absolute pleasure to reconnect with him.”

“This time we engaged in an interesting conversation about his deep-rooted commitment to environmental conservation,” she added. Former President Donald Trump is also understood to have had exchanged messages with King Charles.

The monarch reportedly sent a private letter to Mr Trump following the failed assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania in July, according to The Daily Telegraph.

Accounts of the Trumps’ state visit to the UK in 2019 has been mixed, with some sources claiming they were “gracious” while others claimed the late Queen found Mr Trump to be “very rude.” One unnamed source previously told The New York Post: “I spoke to the Queen subsequently after the state visit, and other members of the royal household, and she told me she found them to be really gracious and wonderful guests to have in the palace.”
