Royal

Meghan Markle’s daring outfit choice followed a pointed remark about royal traditions.

Meghan Markle was spotted wearing a bright red plunging gown this weekend, after previously claiming she spent years avoiding colourful tones during her years as a working royal

Meghan Markle stood out as she wore a red Carolina Herrera gown to attend a gala for the LA Children’s Hospital this weekend.

The Duchess of Sussex has been spotted in the posh frock before, which she wore at a 2021 gala in New York on the eve of Armistice Day in the UK and Veterans Day in the US.

The event saw her rub shoulders with celebrities such as Jamie Lee Curtis and Colin Hanks, before mingling with children attending the star-studded event.

Her outfit marks a departure from the sort of colours the royal was often seen during her years as part of the Firm – where she said she opted for muted and beige colours on purpose.

‘Wanted to blend in’
When Meghan Markle stepped out at the Salute to Freedom Gala in 2021, one of her first glitzy events after quitting the royal family, she was the star of the show thanks to her eye-catching red gown – which she rewore this weekend.

But the Duchess of Sussex has previously revealed she avoided bright colours during her short stint in the royal family as she wanted to “blend in”.

Meghan revealed she adapted her wardrobe after marrying into The Firm during the first part of her Netflix series, Harry & Meghan.

The third episode of the six-part series showed Meghan, 41, getting ready for the gala – which was their first red carpet appearance after stepping down from royal duties.

The bright red gown featured a plunging neckline and thigh-high split – and was unlike the muted outfits she wore as a working Royal.
