Meghan Markle sent secret message to Kate Middleton at huge event with Prince Harry

Meghan Markle sent a message to her sister-in-law Princess Kate when she stepped out for an Invictus event with Prince Harry in February 2024 – and she did it all with her outfit.

The start of 2024 saw Meghan and Harry embark on a rebrand, which included the launch of a new website, Sussex.com to replace their Archewell.com website. They went on to make a number of public appearances, travelling to Jamaica in January to attend the Bob Marley: One Love movie premiere.

The following month, they jetted to Canada for the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025’s One Year to Go celebrations, where they took part in demonstrations and stepped out for dinner dates. Prince Harry also took part in a televised interview with Good Morning America in which he spoke about his estranged family.

And it was on this visit that royal watchers spotted Meghan’s ‘secret signal’ to Kate. For one engagement, Meghan stepped out in an expensive ‘white outfit’, including a £235 Calvin Klein puffer coat, £190 Sorel Joan of Arctic snow boots and a £360 Burberry cashmere Pom Pom beanie.

Kate’s fans were quick to note that the all-white ensemble echoed the colour scheme chosen by the Princess for her Together at Christmas event just two months earlier.

Fashion editor Amber Graafland told Fabulous that Meghan’s outfit colour choice could have sent some hidden signs. She said: “Giving a masterclass in ski chic Meghan opted for a snow bunny theme in white skinny jeans, a cropped £537 cashmere sweater and a tonal Calvin KIein coat.

“Adept at using her clothing to convey deeper meanings, Meghan’s deployment of angelic white could of course have a much deeper meaning. White symbolises purity, innocence, and neutrality. It also represents new beginnings, which could indicate a willingness to leave the controversy of the past few days behind and move on with her newly defined role.”
