The Princess of Wales has been seen in public for the first time since giving an update on her cancer battle to say she has finished chemotherapy.

Catherine, 42, attended church alongside her husband Prince William, 42, King Charles and Queen Camilla. She was seen wearing a khaki hat while sitting in the passenger seat of a car driven by the Prince of Wales.

Earlier this month, Catherine released a moving video revealing she has finished a course of chemotherapy treatment. In the deeply moving clip, the mum-of-three described the last nine months since discovering she had cancer as “scary” and “incredibly tough” but said: “Out of darkness can come light.”

The future Queen said that despite “feeling well”, she is now on a long road to recovery, but plans to start a light programme of engagements. As part of the candid and heartfelt footage, Catherine took a moment to pay tribute to “all those who are continuing their own cancer journey” saying: “I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand.”

In one shot, playful Kate jumped on hay bales and played cards with her children in Norfolk. In the video, she revealed how she’d come “face to face” with her own “vulnerabilities” and said: “As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment.

“The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.

“The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you. With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything.
