Two months after Kate Middleton shared that she finished her cancer treatment, royal insiders are saying that she’s slowly getting back to her gym routine—and that the move could be a good sign for royal fans hoping to see her back to her usual schedule. Since she revealed that she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy, the Princess of Wales has stayed out of the spotlight, only making select appearances at major events, like this year’s Trooping the Colour and the finals at Wimbledon.
Royal biographer Robert Jobson told Hello!, “From what I understand, Catherine is doing very well. She is back training at the gym and doing all the things she wanted to do. I do think that we will start to see a lot more of her, and that she will carry out engagements as well as continuing to work behind the scenes.”

Jobson went on to say that Middleton’s plans could look a little different, however. Though he’s sure that she’ll eventually continue to go on overseas tours, the focus will be on bigger events and making sure that she still has time for her family.
“But rather than travel all over the country all the time, like she used to, I think she will concentrate on more impactful events,” Jobson added. “If she has her way, she will come back in stages and do things that are important to her: because she doesn’t want to get ill again but also, I’m told, because she has a different perspective now.”

Jobson, who recently published Catherine, the Princess of Wales: A Biography of the Future Queen, also noted that Prince William is understanding of the situation. And while he’s excited to have his wife by his side again when he steps out for royal duties, he’s aware things take time.
“Her focus will be on her family, while still managing to do the key events. William is very keen that she does stage a comeback, but I don’t think that necessarily signals that we’re going to get a big tranche of engagements, one after the other,” Jobson explained. “They will start traveling again and I expect them to do at least one tour next year. Catherine may well do a couple of solo things so that William can stay at home with the kids.”
