As the future King and Queen, Prince William and Princess Kate are instantly recognised wherever they go. So royal fans were surprised to hear that they enjoyed a date night in central London – and no one seemed to notice.

William shared details of their incognito evening out during the couple’s visit to Ireland in 2020. At the time, they were speaking to performers in Tribeton in Galway. After watching the group demonstrate tightrope walking, Kate shared a sweet detail about their daughter, Princess Charlotte.

“Charlotte is really into gymnastics, she’s doing cartwheels, handstands, everything. It’s so good for their basic skills of balance and coordination,” the proud mum said.

“And their flexibility, it’s really good for their long-term health, isn’t it?” William then added, before sharing details of their recent date night. “We went to watch the Cirque du Soleil recently, it was amazing.”

The Cirque du Soleil show William was referring to was a performance by the world-famous acrobatic troupe at the Royal Albert Hall, located close to William and Kate’s London home, Kensington Palace.

While the Prince didn’t specify exactly which show he and Kate watched, Hello! magazine reported that it was most likely Cirque du Soleil: Luzia, a Mexican-inspired show which ran from January 12 through March 1 at the iconic London venue.

The acrobatic date night wasn’t the only royal revelation on the day. To the delight of those around him, Prince William showed off a secret skill, masterfully juggling three balls to the applause of onlookers. But it was wife Kate who looked most impressed. She beamed as she watched William in action, before giving him a big round of applause.

A video of the sweet moment was shared on the TikTok account @l0velycatherine – and fans were delighted to see the couple’s touching exchange.

“So cute how smitten she is!” one fan commented, while a second added: “No end to William and Kate’s talents – what a fabulous pair!” A third noted: “William is my fave royal & didn’t know he juggled! And love that Catherine’s his biggest cheerleader.” And a fourth echoed: “Wow! did not know he could do that!”

While date nights must be tricky for William and Kate, they are afforded more privacy when they travel to their Norfolk home, Anmer Hall.

“The locals are incredibly protective of them, you don’t often see people get out their camera phones and record them. They are left to just get on with a family occasion,” royal expert Katie Nicholl previously told OK!.

“If you speak to anyone from North Norfolk, they’re incredibly proud that William and Kate are continuing a love affair with Norfolk that goes back generations. Kate and William tend to go to the same places and these are places where they are known and have a good relationship with the landlord or landlady.”

She added, “They’ve been going to these places for a long time, so it’s not unusual and it’s not difficult for them to go and relax. Norfolk is one of the few places they can just enjoy ordinary, everyday experiences as a family. William and Kate often go out on date nights and you don’t hear about it.”
