Meghan Markle’s Black Corset Had a Sneaky Royal Detail
Chic, understated, and quietly, but persistently modern—this has always been Meghan Markle’s motto when it comes to fashion. And her latest look is no different.
Yesterday, the Duchess of Sussex attended the launch of Highbrow Hippie, a new hair growth line by her friend and long-time colorist, Kadi Lee. For the launch, which took place in Venice, California, Markle stuck to her tried and tested fashion formula, wearing an ultra chic all-black ensemble. On the top, she opted for a sleeveless black corset. On the bottom, a pair of wide-legged tailored trousers that skimmed the floor. Below, her open-toed heels could just be seen.
Naturally, the whole look was the epitome of Montecito elegance—but there was one little detail that hinted at her royal past: her princess neckline.
Markle completed the look with shiny, wavy hair, which she tucked behind her ears. She wore a delicate gold pendant necklace, matching stud earrings, and a gold cuff bracelet.
Also present at the event was hair stylist Serge Normant, who has also worked with Markle for years. In fact, he even styled her hair for her wedding ceremony in 2018.
Lee has worked with Markle for years. She also boasts a few other famous clients, including Julia Roberts. “I work with some of the most visible women in the world; keeping their hair healthy has always been at the top of my mind,” Lee recently told InStyle. Markle is not only a long-time friend and client, she is also an investor in Lee’s new line. “Kadi has a mastery of hair health, and her Highbrow Hippie collection is a perfect reflection of that,” Markle told InStyle. “I am so proud to invest in her as a friend and as a female founder.”
