Prince William is joining forces with another famous conservationist during his trip to Africa for the Earthshot Prize awards. On Tuesday, the Prince of Wales met up with Australian TV and social media star Robert Irwin, son of the late Steve Irwin (a.k.a. the Crocodile Hunter) in Cape Town. According to People, William and Robert, who is a global ambassador for the Earthshot Prize, hiked Signal Hill to spread awareness surrounding biodiversity conservation. The two environmental activists were also joined by the mayor of Cape Town, Geordin Hill-Lewis, for part of the walk.

During the excursion, William made a stop at a park in the Cape Floral Kingdom World Heritage Site, where he spoke with park rangers, conservationists, firefighters, experts, and advocates. At another point during the walk, William and Robert met with young members of Mayine Afrika E Foundation, an organization that supports the wellbeing of the Nyanga community.
William’s look included forest green trousers and an army-green jacket which he wore buttoned. For Irwin’s part, he paired blue pants with a navy polo shirt.

William is currently in South Africa for his annual Earthshot Prize awards, which take place tomorrow on November 6 and will award individuals for their efforts in environmental conservation. During last year’s event, Irwin called William a “a real beacon to everyone in the conservation field.”
“It’s hard to put into words just how massive Earthshot is for wildlife conservation, for climate action, for the world,” he told People at the time. “For Prince William, who has such a great platform, to lend his voice, his resources into creating positive change is such a refreshing, wonderful thing to see. I applaud what he is doing.”
