Arise Queen Olivia! Actress is morphing into the late Queen after playing her in 2 seasons of The Crown – as she stuns in ad for royally-approved brand

Olivia Colman is well-acquainted with portraying royal figures.

She famously played Queen Anne in The Favourite, and successfully transformed into the world’s longest-reigning monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, for The Crown.

Her performance in seasons three and four of the Netflix series earned her both a Golden Globe and Emmy Award, impressing her co-stars as well. 

Helena Bonham Carter, who played Princess Margaret, previously gushed: ‘The first time I saw Olivia in her wig it was magical, it was like “the queen is in the room”.’

To accurately depict the late monarch, Olivia wore custom outfits and underwent an extensive hair and make-up routine, particularly to replicate the monarch’s iconic hairstyle, which remained unchanged for sixty years.

And the actress appears to be morphing into the Queen in her latest project for Burberry, too.

Olivia joins a host of famous faces in Burberry‘s autumn 2024 campaign. 

Bearing a striking resemblance to Queen Elizabeth, she is seen wearing a quilted corduroy jacket while posing beside a Range Rover amidst a flock of sheep.

In contrast to her role in The Crown, the actress adopts a relaxed approach, showcasing her natural curly locks and presenting her unique spin on the royal look, which she carries with grace.

The campaign, entitled It’s Always Burberry Weather, aims to reinforce the brand’s quintessentially British style by celebrating its rich heritage.

Despite a 40 percent drop in profits over the past year and warnings of a challenging period ahead, Burberry hopes that its new collection, featuring Olivia, will help boost sales. 

The delightful campaign clearly evokes images of Queen Elizabeth enjoying leisure time at her cherished Balmoral Castle.

Burberry has been designing quilted jackets for over 40 years. This specific style features a tonal corduroy collar and B shield applique, along with classic checked lining.

The collection also includes trench coats, wax jackets and gilets, complemented by Wellington boots, creating an off-duty regal look that Queen Elizabeth would undoubtedly approve of.
