Meghan Markle’s TV husband, Patrick J. Adams, revealed that she texted him about the Suits podcast, even though they’re ‘not really in touch.’
The Duchess of Sussex reached out to her former costar after hearing he and Sarah Rafferty were launching a rewatch podcast for the hit legal drama
Patrick J. Adams doesn’t regularly keep in touch with Meghan Markle, but the Duchess of Sussex contacted her former costar recently, and the actor is feeling the love.
The Suits star, 43, replied to fans’ comments and questions on a Reddit thread on Sunday, Oct. 6, including a pointed question about how his relationship has changed with Meghan, 43, since she left the show in 2018 and married Prince Harry.
“Is it weird now that your costar is now royalty? Are you still in touch?” a fan asked, and Adams admitted that he and the Duchess of Sussex “are not really in touch” as he clarified that she “leads a very different life now for obvious and important reasons.”
However, after hearing the news that Adams and Sarah Rafferty were launching a rewatch podcast for the beloved series, the actor said Meghan reached out.
“Upon hearing about the podcast, I got a lovely text, saying how excited she was for us and asking how she could help in any way,” Adams wrote.
He said it was “so lovely to still have that kind of support and friendship after so many years apart.”
Meghan and Adams’ characters — Rachel Zane and Mike Ross, respectively — were love interests on the show and ended up getting married onscreen. In the second episode of his and Rafferty’s Sidebar: A Suits Watch Podcast, Adams recalled working with the Duchess even before the pilot for Suits.
He revealed that they had “done a pilot before” but it didn’t get picked up, so they “never saw each other again” until they were called in for a Suits chemistry read.
“I think just knowing each other and getting to calm down and not have those nerves of just getting to know one another really helped that chemistry read,” Adams said. “We had an easygoing thing when we went into that room.”
