Kate Middleton reveals the cheeky thing that embarrasses Prince William when they’re at home.
The Prince and Princess of Wales were on a royal visit to an air base in Cyprus when Kate let slip one of her husband's bad habits - 'You're a nightmare with that!'
He might be the future King, but Prince William still gets in trouble with Kate Middleton at home with one of his bad habits – and it’s surprisingly relatable.
Princess Kate revealed all in 2018 when the couple visited an RAF base in Cyprus to meet serving personnel who would be away from their families that Christmas, and officially open a new recreation facility. Looking around at the new decor, William warned: “Keep the pizza off the sofas”. But Kate quickly dropped him in it by revealing he’s a repeat offender, saying: “You’re a nightmare with that!”
It’s no secret that the royal couple enjoy the occasional takeaway. During an interview with BBC Radio 1 in 2017, Kate was asked if the family ever ordered takeaways – and if so, what was her favourite. The Princess replied: “Absolutely, and curry, definitely!” She further added: “It doesn’t usually get ordered to the palace, we tend to go and pick it up,” before jokingly adding “not ourselves!”
Kate also revealed that, while she likes spicy dishes, William doesn’t share her love of hot curries. And William told ex-football star Peter Crouch on his podcast in 2020 that he is “not a vindaloo man, put it that way” – but said that he does enjoy a chicken masala. And like many of us, he also confessed he struggles to decide which cuisine to go for when choosing a takeaway. “It’s a real conundrum when it comes to it. Pizza, curry, or Chinese,’ he admitted.
It’s also known that the late Queen was partial to a very British takeaway – and would send her footman to pick up her £10 order. An insider previously confirmed to Fabulous: “She very occasionally treated herself to fish and chips when at Balmoral. A footman is dispatched to get it from the local town of Ballater.”
Surprisingly, Her Majesty also enjoyed a kebab in the past, according to Hello! magazine. Royal correspondent Jayne Seymour revealed that Krazy Kebabs takeaway in Swaffham got a delivery order by telephone to Sandringham House. The delivery driver told Jayne: “I assumed the food was for a servant. But when I got to the entrance a butler took it and said it was for the Queen. I hope she enjoyed it – we are known for the best kebabs in Norfolk.”
As well as pizza, Prince William is also known to be a big fan of the fast food chain Nandos. During the BBC documentary, Football , Prince William and Our Mental Health , which aired in May 2020, the royal stated: “Everyone loves a Nando’s,” before adding that it had been a while since he had treated himself to a burger or a pitta from the restaurant. He joked: “In fact, the policeman who’s on with me again [today], he’s the one who gets me the Nando’s the whole time. It’s his fault.”
