Prince Harry dubbed a ‘court jester’ seeking ‘popularity’ as Megxit plan ‘hasn’t worked’

Prince Harry was labelled a “court jester” who always liked to be “popular” but his plans after leaving the Royal Family have not worked out for him, according to his former bodyguard.

The Duke of Sussex saw his popularity plunge after he sensationally quit his royal duties back in 2020 and moved to the US with his wife Meghan Markle.

According to research conducted by Statista last month, Harry has steadily become less popular among the British public since October 2019.

Back then (October 2019), Harry was liked by 71 percent and disliked by 22 percent of those polled but the latest data from last August showed that now, only 30 percent hold a favourable opinion of him, while 60 percent dislike him.

Now Ken Wharfe, who worked as a Protection Officer to both Prince Harry and Prince William, as well as their late mother, Princess Diana, claimed that there are similarities between the late Princess of Wales and her younger son.

He also claimed that William was “less popular” than Harry when they were young and “somewhat jealous” of that.

Mr Wharfe told the Sun: “Yes, they’re [Princess Diana and Prince Harry] both entertainers.”

“Harry was always the court jester as a child. Part of the problem with him and his brother was that William was somewhat jealous of his popularity.

“But like his mother, she liked to be entertained, she liked to be popular.”

He added: “People will say he’s actually very fun to be with, he’s very good in meetings, he’s always mindful and careful of how he speaks to his staff, which was a classic Diana.

“She was very generous, she was a gift giver, Harry is exactly the same. I do see similarities.”
