Princess Beatrice ‘dropped hint on royal future’ with revealing Prince William move

Despite being the nieces of King Charles and holding the title of Princess, neither Beatrice nor Eugenie are working royals, and instead have had to forge their own careers. The two daughters of Prince Andrew, however, still step in to help out the senior royals from time to time,\ when they are called upon.

The last year has been a seriously challenging time for the Royal Family, with both Princess Kate and King Charles having to take some time off as they underwent cancer treatment. This has at times left the royals seemingly a little shorthanded, with the “slimmed down monarchy” that Charles has long been said to be a proponent of, looking even smaller than usual. However, during one busy period, Princess Beatrice stepped up to the plate and filled in for her cousin Prince William, whilst he attended to high-profile guests during a state visit – and one royal expert has claimed this could be a hint of what the York sisters’ future may hold.

The event in question was part of William’s ongoing with the climate awards he established back in 2020 – the Earthshot Prize, which aims to find solutions to the climate crisis, across five categories. Whilst this is one of William’s passion projects, which he regularly works to promote, during a state visit from the Emperor and Empress of Japan back in June, he had to miss the discussion centred around water due to his hosting duties.

Beatrice instead sat down with a selection of philanthropists and founders for the climate discussion, whilst William took on a prominent role in the state visit. This wasn’t the only time that Beatrice stepped up to the plate this summer: she also attended one of the annual Buckingham Palace garden parties alongside William and her sister Eugenie, which one royal expert has claimed could provide a hint about what the York sisters future could look like within the House of Windsor.

Jennie Bond – formerly royal correspondent for the BBC – explained to OK Magazine, “I thought it was joyful to see this new generation of royals step up to help William at one of the traditional engagements of the year. I think their guests would have been genuinely thrilled to meet this younger, less formal and, let’s face it, more fun generation of royals. I think it gave us a glimpse of the future: when William becomes King. He may not have his brother at his side, but he will have a band of loyal and close relatives to help him represent the monarchy. I’m sure that, whenever they can, they will step up to help William when the burden of Kingship finally falls on his shoulders.”
